This is why Bain Capital is a significant issue — Mitt Romney is incapable of being truthful about Bain at best, and may be covering up shady and/or criminal dealings at worst. When even Forbes is calling for Romney to answer questions about his time at Bain, it’s about time he do so. Every single time the Romney campaign has been asked about Bain Capital, they dodge and weave. Here’s Mitt Romney’s Senior Adviser Ed Gillespie today:
"There may have been a thought at the time that it could be part-time. It was not part-time. The Olympics was in a shambles. The International Olympic Committee was going to pull the Olympics from the United States of America, which would have been a huge embarrassment. He took a leave of absence and in fact, ended up not going back at all and retired retroactively to February 1999 as a result."
