The media has treated the shootings in Oak Creek very differently from those that happened just two weeks earlier in Aurora… the massacre in Oak Creek is treated as a tragedy for Sikhs in America rather than a tragedy for all Americans.

Truth. I’ve heard people say that we’re still numb from Aurora, but I don’t think that’s the case. I think it was because America, as a whole, could not “relate” to the victims who were exercising their freedom to worship. There’s your point to “relate” to the victims if you can’t relate to them just because they were human beings peacefully existing until a terrorist decided they shouldn’t.
