So what? His wife and child are American citizens, and he was here legally. Isn’t that how public assistance ideally works? A temporary safety net, right? Relevant: “The state says both Tsarnaev and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev — his brother and the other bombing suspect — received welfare benefits as children through their parents while the family lived in Massachusetts. Neither was receiving benefits at the time of the bombing.” Is that the story, the system operated as intended? Or is this non-news dressed up as news just so we hate the bomber (and by extension, his family) a teensy bit more? I mean, we’re so generous to people living in poverty in this country, and we have no homeless or hungry people ever, so obviously this is big important news — it’s in no way related to some sort of stigma associated with welfare, nope, no sir. /sarcasm

Tamerlan Tsarnaev was an Alex Jones fan

From the “Shit you can’t make up” files:

In a bizarre twist befitting a Hollywood conspiracy theory movie. the AP reports today that Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev was influenced by conspiracy theories, including Alex Jones’ website Infowars, which has been pushing a narrative that the Tsarnaev brothers were patsies set up by a government cabal to take the fall for the bombing

There’s no doubt that Jones will take this report as confirmation of everything he’s been preaching. The report, he will claim, was planted in the AP — the government controls the media, after all — and is a naked attempt to discredit him and definitive proof that the globalist cabal views him as a serious threat. He was getting too close to the truth in Boston, so they decided to try to take him out. It’ll be a big shot in the arm to Jones’ grand theory of the bombings, which has suffered from an embarrassing lack of evidence and logical consistently. He said the government first planned to blame the Tea Party, but then was found out and had to switch Plan B — blame Muslim extremists — so with the AP report, Jones will say, the government is trying to return to Plan A.

Other reports state that the suspects’ mother was a believer in 9/11 truther theories — specifically ones spouted by Jones and others -- that  claim 9/11 was a government conspiracy to make Americans hate Muslims because terrorism, but was concocted to take away civil rights and gain power, blah blah blah.

For people who think the government is largely incompetent, Jones and his followers sure have a lot of faith in it. It will be interesting to see how this shakes out as the investigation continues, considering anything said regarding Tsarnaev being a fan of Alex Jones can, of course, just be another part of the “conspiracy.”

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is the “lone wolf” hypothesis personified.

Just let me point out the cognitive gymnastics Kirsten Powers is performing here: A Muslim man is not necessarily a terrorist, but could be; however, an abortion clinic bomber is never a terrorist because that person is crazy and is totally and 100% not representative of the pro-life movement.

So… just like the miniscule minority of Muslims who commit terrorism are not representative of the overwhelming peaceful majority who follow the teachings of Islam?

Just so we’re clear, domestic terrorism motivated by radical anti-choice ideology is just that — terrorism.

I just can’t…

The person questioned in the hospital was a Saudi national, who was reportedly tackled and held by a bystander after he was seen running from near the scene of the explosion, said a law enforcement source who spoke with someone involved in the FBI’s investigation.

The Saudi man, believed to be a university student in Boston, is cooperating with the FBI and told agents that he was not involved in the explosions, and that he ran only because he was frightened. Investigators did not characterize the man as a suspect. No one had been arrested or charged by late Monday night.

The Boston Globe, April 17, 2013

I would have run as I fast as I could as well.

Gee, wonder why a bystander tackled a Saudi man who was nearby versus any other of the hundreds, likely thousands, of spectators in the general vicinity? It couldn’t have anything to do with the demonization of Muslims (and those who “look” Muslim or Middle Eastern) in the U.S., could it?

Boston Person of Interest Description

The person of interest shown on a surveillance video setting down a bag near the site of the second explosion at the Boston Marathon is described as a young white male wearing a black jacket, a grey hooded sweatshirt and a white or off-white baseball cap backwards. He is 6 feet or 6-feet-2-inches tall with a medium build.

The man appeared to be alone and was talking on a cell phone at the time he set down a bag. When the first explosive device went off, he took off. Moments later, a second explosion happened right where he had been standing.

the-cold-revolution replied to your post: those saying that lady died twice are wrong in…

There were people like you around during cointelpro and gulf of tonkin too, Meg. If you believe anything you see on TV, you are not intelligent.

So you’re saying we can believe nothing we see on TV?

I’m watching Rescue Me right now. Right now, Denis Leary is playing Tommy Gavin. But I guess I’m not intelligent for believing something I’m seeing on TV.

I’m not saying “question nothing” — just the opposite. But do you really believe the Boston bombings were some kind of government conspiracy? That Sandy Hook was faked? That Aurora really didn’t happen?

I swear, you people can’t see things in shades other than black, white, or batshit. Either I support the conspiracy, or I’m not intelligent.

And yeah, there were people like me during COINTELPRO. They had FBI files on us and everything for being left-wing.

Here, spin a conspiracy theory about me:

image

That sign stood outside the UniWyo dome after I successfully sued the University of Wyoming after they banned a speech by Prof. William Ayers. I’m sure there’s a photo of the two of us somewhere. That should give you folks enough material for at least the next four years if Sean Hannity’s rageboner is any indication.

I mean, you DID see this on the internet, and not TV, so it must be true, yeah?

Cheers,

Meg

steadyrain asked: those saying that lady died twice are wrong in that she wasn't said to die in Boston. However, she was indeed on the news report as a witness. And yet she was earlier on the news for having died in Sandy Hook. The people got the facts wrong, but they still don't add up. Either way, an apparently dead woman was alive to tell the tale of her eyewitness account at Boston. There truly is something weird going on here.

No, there’s not.

For fuck’s sake…

Send me a link. A name. The news report. Anything. I don’t want another fucking photoshopped screen shot. I want a real-life video from a news agency affiliated with a major organization.

There’s nothing weird going on here except for the persistent refusal of people to accept that the Boston Marathon bombing was not a goddamn plot by the government.

Here’s my theory:

The bomber was Maggie Gyllenhaal, who also is responsible for Newtown, after she went ballistic on the set of that one Manbat movie she was in. The real Maggie Gyllenhaal has been replaced by a woman named Erika from Englishtown, N.J.

See? Here’s a side by side picture:

And it’s even from Boston.com, the website owned by The Boston Globe. THEY WERE TRYING TO TIP US OFF AND YOU PEOPLE DIDN’T SEE IT.

Now, prove me wrong.

Cheers,

Meg
