Aidan is five years old and has leukemia. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy. He’s also a budding artist and draws great monsters. To help pay for his medical bills, his artwork is for sale.

 ugh he is so cute

This actually makes me angry. Because a child shouldn’t have to sell drawings he does while sitting in a hospital bed being pumped full of noxious chemicals, probably feeling pukey from all the chemo, simply because the United States is so fucking backwards and fucked-up that we still don’t have universal health care and therefore his family is probably being saddled with hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills.
This is a crime.
Shame on this country. Shame.
And to Aidan—-hang in there, buddy. I love your monsters, and I am so sorry you were born into one of the wealthiest nations in the world, yet still don’t have access to affordable health care.

This makes me cry. I love his monsters I just wish he weren’t selling them to pay for chemo.
Screw anyone that thinks kids like this don’t deserve good health care  - I’m looking at you Glenn Beck.

The monsters aren’t the ones he’s drawing. They’re the ones that make him feel like drawing monsters to sell is necessary to save his life.
