On walking to my car late at night:

Downtown tonight, a dude yelled at me, laughing, “Hey bitch, you don’t gotta carry your keys like that!” referring to my now-ingrained habit of three keys between my four fingers.

I don’t even notice any longer, but the fact that HE noticed makes me feel like I should. I crossed against the light and strode up the street like I owned the sidewalk. Head up, eyes forward, alert with a purpose. But I listened for footsteps behind, even though all I heard was him slurring and laughing about bitches like me because “…not all men!”

Yeah. Not all.
But some do.

Participating in #OpBART tomorrow?

#OpBART participants - Here’s some very important info from @YourAnonNews:

#OpBART IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: We’re going to have the National Lawyers’ Guild hotline set up tomorrow, in case of arrests. If you’re going to the protest, PLEASE write the number - (415) 285-1011 - in permanent pen on your arm (or memorize it), and give the number a call if you get arrested.

As someone who’s participated in protests before and detained, write it on your arm in black Sharpie. You may not remember the number, and trust me, you don’t want to be in that situation. The police will not let you keep your phone, and they won’t let you look up a number, especially if shit goes down.

Be safe, and I’d be there if I could.
